One Pan Filet Mignone
This is my absolute favorite way to prepare a filet mignon. It only takes 10 minutes to cook and you get to take in all the great smells the entire time. This easy one pan filet mignon recipe comes out restaurant quality, but you can enjoy in the comfort of your own home! This is an easy weekday meal, or can be dressed up with some fun sides for a romantic weekend dinner.
I always use my Cast Iron when making steaks because it provides the perfect sear, every time.

Ingredients:
Beef Filet Mignon (1 for everyone)
3-4 Fresh Cloves of Garlic; Lightly crushed with a large blade
Fresh Herbs: Rosemary, Thyme, Sage (all work great on their own, or create your own blend)
Marinade:
Kosher Salt
Fresh Cracked Black Pepper
Garlic Powder
Soy Sauce
Worcestershire
Directions:
At least 30 min prior to cooking, marinate your steaks with the marinade ingredients in a shallow dish. I like to do the wet ingredients first, then my dry ingredients. Roll the steaks around in the pan to get the seasoning around the edges as well.
Let these steaks marinate in the fridge for up to 24 hours. If you are cooking them right away, let them sit on the counter until you're ready to cook.
Remove your steaks from the fridge at least 45 minutes before you cook. The steaks need to get to room temperature in order to cook evenly.
Heat up your skillet or cast iron pan, on medium high heat.
Once you see your pan smoking, apply some olive oil (I used about 2 Tbsp).
Pat your steaks with a paper towel to soak up the moisture on the surface, then place them on the skillet, for 2-3 minutes untouched, depending on your steaks thickness. (My steaks in this recipe were about 2 inches thick, therefore I did 3 minutes on each side.) - After 2-3 Minutes, flip your steaks over and cook another 2-3 minutes, untouched.
Once you've seared each side, flip the steaks back over and turn heat down to medium low heat.
Add your 2 1/2 Tbs butter (you can use more if needed), crushed garlic, and fresh herbs.
Baste steaks with this mixture in your pan for about 3 minutes until they feel done, based on touch. Lightly tilt the pan and scoop the buttery goodness over each steak.
Once you have cooked your steaks to your preferred doneness, remove from skillet and LET REST FOR AT LEAST 10 MINUTES!!!! (DON'T SKIP THIS STEP!!!!)
Gather your guests and let them watch as you cut open these beautiful, perfectly done steaks. They will oohhh and ahhh at your skills.
