The Ninja Woodfire Outdoor Oven vs. Woodfire Grill: Which one is better?

Welcome to the world of outdoor cooking. Today I’m comparing the Ninja Woodfire Outdoor Grill and the Outdoor Oven

If you prefer a visual experience, we invite you to check out our YouTube channel for an in-depth video discussing the differences between these two options. But for those who prefer a quick read, let's dive into the key points.

Similarities:

  1. Outdoor Cooking: Both the Ninja Woodfire Grill and the Outdoor Oven offer the opportunity to enjoy the wonderful experience of outdoor cooking, allowing you to embrace the beauty of nature while preparing delicious meals.

  2. Versatility: Both products provide a versatile cooking platform, allowing you to experiment with various cooking techniques, including grilling, roasting, baking, smoking, and more.

  3. Temperature Control: Whether you choose the Ninja Woodfire Grill or the Outdoor Oven, you'll have access to precise temperature control features that enable you to achieve optimal cooking results as well as even temperature throughout .

  4. Apartment/Condo Friendly: Since both are powered by electricity, and have special safety cords, they pass apartment and condo standards that most traditional grills and smokers do not. This allows the art of outdoor cooking to reach more people!

  5. Watt Usage: If you are trying to run these outdoor accessories on a battery, then you may be concerned of the wattage usage of these two units. They both pull 1760W, 120V 60HZ. I have found my external batteries, and even my car outlet will not power these units. Please look at your battery manual to determine if you can before planning on using that to power these units.

    Differences:

    1. Design: The Ninja Woodfire Grill typically features a compact design with open lid cooking, while the Ninja Outdoor Oven often resembles a traditional wood-fired oven. The Ninja Woodfire Grill is specifically designed for direct grilling, while the Outdoor Oven offers a more extensive cooking space for pizzas, baking and roasting.

Differences in the lid openings

  • 2. Functionality: The Ninja Woodfire Grill offers unique lid open cooking which gives you a live cooking/grilling feel. It also offers an Air Crisp (Air Fry) function. The Outdoor oven offers higher temperature functions like Specialty Post, Max Roast and 5 Specialty Pizza options, as well as low temperatures to provide cold smoking options.

  • 3. Temperature Ranges: The Ninja Woodfire Oven can reach temperatures as low as 105-700F. Whereas the Ninja Grill only reaches temperatures of 500, and lowest temperature reaches 120.

  • 4. Cooking Time: Due to differences in design and insulation, the Outdoor Oven typically excels in longer cooking durations, such as slow-roasting meats and baking, while the Ninja Woodfire Grill is well-suited for quicker grilling sessions.’

  • 5. Woodfire Technology - The Ninja Woodfire Grill has the ability to add woodfire flavors to all 7 of the preset functions, while the Ninja Woodfire Outdoor Oven can add woodfire flavor to 6 out of of the 8 preset functions. The options not available for woodfire flavor are WARM and BROIL.

  • 6. Portability: The Ninja Woodfire Outdoor Grill offers side handles and a cord wrap for easy portability, as well as a quick collapsing stand so you can take the grill with you anywhere! The Ninja Woodfire Outdoor Oven is much larger, and doesn’t have easy access handles. It would be much harder to move the oven.

  • 7. Accessories: While each outdoor product comes with a starter pack of pellets and a scoop, they do have different accessories. The Ninja Woodfire Outdoor Grill offers a grill grate and a combo crisper basket, while the Outdoor Oven offers a ProHeat Pan and raised rack (which acts kind of like a cast iron) and a pizza stone.

  • 8. Price: The Ninja Woodfire Grill options two models: A regular model at $369 and a pro model for $459. The Outdoor oven runs $399. But their cheaper with my codes, so don’t forget 😉

So what would I choose?

If I had $400 burning a hole in my pocket and I had to choose, I would go with the Outdoor Oven. To me, the pizza oven alone is worth it, but it offers 7 other options as well. Making it a great all in one unit to add to your outdoor area! Seeing as I already have a bunch of grills, I dont really need that grilling feel, and I love the convenience of the outdoor oven when I want to cook pizzas, or a complimentary dish when I am grilling. The oven can do everything the grill can, but you loose out on that “grilling” feeling.

Whether you choose the Ninja Woodfire Grill or the Outdoor Oven, both products offer exceptional outdoor cooking experiences.
