Simple Smoked Spatchcock Chicken on the Ninja Woodfire Outdoor Oven

Smoked Spatchcock Chicken? Say less. Ingredients and Directions are below 👇

Ingredients:

  • 2 Whole Chickens - Spatchcocked (4-6) lbs each

  • garlic powder

  • Onion Powder

  • Paprika

  • salt

  • pepper

Items recommended: :

Internal Temperature Thermometer/ Gauge

Spritzer

Directions:

  1. Remove the spine, and spatchcock your chicken. Lay it breast side up.

  2. Pat dry your chicken, then rub olive oil along the outside of the chicken.

  3. Add seasoning of choice. Whether that is a combination or preblended spice or a mixture of your own. Really whatever your feeling that day, chicken likes everything. Sprinkle this all over the chicken, even on the underside.

  4. Lay chicken over the Ninja Roasting Rack in the heavy tray.

  5. Set Ninja Woodfire Oven to the Smoker Setting at 275 and add in pellets of your choice. Press start and the Ninja Oven will begin igniting and preheating the oven.

  6. Once preheated, place in your chicken in the oven and close the door.. Every 20 minutes, lightly spritz your chicken with water, to keep it moist.

  7. Cook Chicken until internal temp of the breast get to 160F degrees. If you do not have a thermometer, cook for this took me right at 2 hours. I really recommend a thermometer though so you dont have to poison your family.

  8. Once internal temp has been reached, remove the chicken and LET IT REST for the love of god. Like 10 minutes. Just pull it out and go set the table or something. Dont cut into it.

  9. Okay cut into it and enjoy the fruits of your labor. The resting is worth it my friends.

The Ninja Oven is awesome. I love that I can add smoke into anything I choose. I didn’t have to sacrifice the air crisp setting to have some smoky flavors. If you want to check out this grill and possibly get one of your own, you can do that here.
